5 people + 5 days = $15 and 10 visits to various health care providers! Don't you think that is a little excessive?!?!?
It seems our bad luck with illnesses has continued into July.... Last Monday I took Beanie to his 4 year and Peachy to her 18 month well child check ups. All went well! Beanie is right on track for all his developmental milestones. He is in the 45th percentile for his weight and the 50th for his height. He is a sweet, smart, funny boy! Peachy is still small, but following her curve perfectly! Can I tell you how GLAD that I am to have my regular Doctor back!!! She is not worried ONE bit about Peachy's smallness! Peachy is in the 3rd percentile for her weight, 15th for her height, and 35th for her head! She has reached all of her developmental milestones and is a joy! On the way out of the Dr's office, Peachy had a sucker in her mouth and fell down, she was fine. I was helping her up when Beanie was walking backwards, not paying attention and he tripped over her, falling on top of Peachy. This banged Peachy's head onto the floor and tore the little frenulum between her two front teeth. I picked them both up, Beanie was fine, Peachy was screaming and bleeding. Peanut was concerned that the sucker was icky because it was on the floor..... then he saw the blood.... poor kid freaks out when he sees blood, he starts crying and and yelling "there's blood Mama, why is there blood?!?" We go right back into the office. The office staff got Peanut and Beanie some juice and some books to look at and calmed them right down. Meanwhile Peachy is bleeding and screaming and has a fat bruised lip. We get her in the room and the Dr comes back in, sees that the frenulum between her top two teeth is torn, but that appears to be the only trauma. We get the bleeding stopped and go on our way. That is 2 of 10 visits out of the way!
Tuesday: Peachy falls on the metal threshold of the door and gets a pretty blue goose egg on her forehead. She seems fine. A few hours later she starts to vomit, and vomit, and vomit.... and I think.... crap she has a concussion. I am feeling very sick myself (I chalk it up to "morning sickness") so I send Ry with Peachy to the Instacare. We are so lucky because our Dr is the Dr in the instacare that night. She is concerned because it has been two head bonks in two days, sends Peachy and Ry to the ER for a CT scan. Scan shows a possible small crack in her skull. She keeps vomiting at the ER, we crack it up to a concussion! That is visit 3 and 4. Wednesday: Peachy seems to be doing better, she is pretty tired and doesn't have much of an appetite, but is keeping the food that she does eat down.
Wednesday night/Thursday morning Ry and I start with the vomiting. Grandpa P came and got the boys so Ry and I could rest and get better, but it just gets worse. Ry heads to the Instacare and gets some IV fluids. Visit number 5. I call my Doctor, go in to see her when Ry gets home. She decides that I am very dehydrated and sends me to the Instacare for IV fluids! Those were visits 6 and 7.
Thursday night Peanut and Beanie start vomiting!! Poor Grandma and Grandpa P!! They got more than they bargained for!! Peanut and Beanie spent the night in the ER hooked up to IV's as well. They were both so exhausted and dehydrated that neither one of them put up a fight when the IV's were placed. Visits 8 and 9.
Friday I had an appointment with my OB for an ultrasound! I was feeling a little bit better from the previous day, and it was nice to go in for something good. We saw a 8 week 4 day old fetus with a strong healthy heartbeat! Visit number 10!!
Grandpa P brought Beanie back home Friday night. He was still feeling sick and just wanted to be at home with his Mama. Peanut of course wanted to stay at Grandma's house! Now, this is where the $15 comes into play. Peanut came home on Monday night after a fun weekend of being extra loved at Grandma's house. He had an envelope with him that had $15 in it with the kids names on it. We asked Peanut about it and he told us that Grandma had told him that she would give him 5 bucks if he would go to the hospital! Guess it worked! We think he definitely earned it!

Holy Cow! That dosen't sound possible. I'm so sorry to hear you were all so well. Good luck and health must be on the horizon for all of you!
I am so sorry to hear about all those visits. Gotta love Instacare, we don't have those out here. I really hope everyone starts to feel better soon. Hopefully the baby sickness will calm down for a little bit :).
