Birthdays, Fathers Day, Painting and Swine Flu

Peanut turned 7 and Beanie turned 4 this month! Instead of a party this year, Peanut wanted to go to the local amusement/water park for his birthday. The weather was nice, and we had an enjoyable time (mostly). We did the water park portion first, and the water was FREEZING!!! Peanut was able to go on all the water slides with Ry, while the two little ones and I braved the cold lazy river and kids area. We will have to go again when the weather is much hotter so the water won't be so cold. After the water park, we did a few family friendly rides and then sent Ry and Peanut to ride some "big" rides. Poor Ry, doesn't have the stomach to ride the big rides much anymore..... good thing that there are lots of garbage cans around :(. We weren't able to go on a couple of the rides that he had wanted to because it was closing time, so that was a disappointment at the end of the day, but we promised him that we would go again soon, so he could go on those rides. A couple days later we celebrated Beanies birthday, (kind of). Beanie was excited to "upgrade" from a car seat to a booster, so that was his major gift. He also wanted to go to the amusement park for his birthday, so Peanut, Beanie and I went in the afternoon after all the morning shenanigans......

The swine flu decided to come visit our house!! Ry came down with symptoms the day after Peanut's birthday. I sent him to the Doctor, and he was given some anti-viral medicine that has seemed to help tremendously. I am not sure why the rest of us were not given prophylactic treatment at that time, but the instacare MD told us just to come in when we had symptoms..... not too happy with that answer.... Anyway, a couple of days later, Peachy got sick. Fever, cough, stuffy/runny nose, aches, fussiness, no appetite..... So the next morning (which happened to be Beanie's birthday) I took her to the pediatrician, she got some medicine and the rest of us got some medicine to prevent us from getting it! Thank goodness! The boys and I have remained symptom free and Ry and Peachy are feeling much better.

After I took Peachy to the Doctor, the boys and I went to the amusement park and left the sickies at home to get some much needed rest. Peanut was still a little disappointed that he wasn't able to go on the big rides since it was Beanie's day and just the three of us, but we had fun just the same. It was nice to have some mama and boys time. After his nap, Ry came an picked Beanie up, so Peanut and I were finally able to go on the big rides!! He was very excited and is looking forward to going again.

Fathers day was kind of a bust this year, poor Ry was sick in bed, and mostly out of it, so I will have to make it up to him on another day. I am grateful for such a good father for my kids. Ry is a wonderful Father, he plays with the kids all the time and they adore him. Peachy's eyes light up when he comes home from work at night, and the boys attack him instantly. I am also grateful for my Dad. We were suppose to meet him for dinner, but couldn't because of the swine flu. We will have to make it up to him as well.

Since Ry took a bunch of days off for our Anniversary, Birthdays, and such, we decided that it would be the "perfect" time to FINALLY paint our living room!! What were we thinking?!?! As of today, some of our furniture is piled in the middle of the room, toys and entertainment (music and movies) are scattered throughout the house, our floors are covered with plastic, and we have one coat of paint on our walls. Someday...... but for now, our house is a disaster and the month isn't over YET!!

Peanut got a football, bakugon, and a slip and slide. Notice the start of the living room paint job in the background.........

What cuties!Looks like we need to invest in some sunless tannerThis was Peachy's favorite ride. She enjoyed pulling my hair :(Legos and Handy Manny
