Welcome to the sick house

***** WARNING, MAY CAUSE GAGGING, PROCEED WITH CAUTION*****

Well, we have had a fun week! Last Sunday, Beanie's eyelid started looking red and swollen. By Wednesday, he had an icky, swollen, infected sty. He kept telling me that it was hurting, and the warm compresses didn't seem to be working, so I made an appointment with the Doctor. After I made the appointment, Beanie said "Mama, it doesn't hurt anymore, so I don't need to go see the Doctor!" Got Peanut off to school, and the 2 little ones in the car. About half way there, I hear Peachy in the back gagging, then barfing. That's just fantastic! I pull over, get her as cleaned up as I can with the baby wipes and get Beanie to the Doctor. We get a prescription for some antibiotics and head home. Peachy throws up again! Now, none of my kids have been real "spitters" or had problems with that sort of thing, so I knew that she must be sick. When the boys are sick, they have a really distinct "warning cry" that when I hear, I know that I need to get the bowl, and FAST! But Peachy, no warning..... just barfing. Poor Beanie, after a few more hours of giving most of my attention to Peachy, he was feeling neglected. I call Ry, who is out of town for the week for work, and staying with his parents, he is so thoughtful, and suggests that I bring the boys to him so I can concentrate on Peachy, and the boys can have fun at Grandma's house for a few days! We decide to meet half way, too bad that Ry had to drive through the canyon TWICE in the snow! I manage to get the boys all packed up, and Peachy cleaned up, and we head out. Both the boys had a nice little rest, and Peachy stayed clean. I got to spend Thursday, Friday, and Saturday doing lots and lots of laundry. We have a "bowl" for times like these, but Peachy would cry and cry whenever it came near her, so I resorted to draping towels and blankets over me............ the things we do for our children. By Saturday afternoon, Peachy started to perk up a little bit, and I thought that maybe she was on the mend. The boys came home that night and she was SO happy to see them!! So was I!! I missed them terribly) She clung to Ry like I have never seen before, (for about a minute) then it was back to Mama's arms. Beanie's eye looked much better, thanks for keeping the meds on schedule Ry. Sunday morning, Peachy is sick again, guess she isn't feeling better :( Ry stays home from Church while the boys and I go to Primary. (You would think that we could actually make it on time for Sacrament meeting too since it is at 1PM......) We enjoy a nice evening together, it was so good to be all together again. Around midnight, everyone was sleeping (except me... stupid insomnia) I was reading in bed, and all of the sudden I hear the strangest noise, like someone dumped a bucket of water over.... I listen and wonder if it is raining hard outside or something... nope. I hear it again, and THEN I hear the cry.... oh no. I walk into the boy's room and am almost bowled over by the smell, and then I slip in something warm. YUCK!! Haven't I been covered in vomit enough in the last few days?!? Poor Peanut, he says that he woke up, and didn't even have time to give me his warning cry :( Peanut sleeps on the top bunk, and leaned his head (almost) over the edge to do the deed. I wake an unsuspecting Ry up, and beg for help. We get Peanut cleaned up and snuggled him into our bed. Now we get all the lights on the really inspect the damage. Sweet Beanie, slept through the whole thing (THANK GOODNESS, because you don't want to wrath of that child when he wakes up too soon!!) We made the mistake of not picking up the books before bed, so, there were books everywhere by the bed. remember that Peanut sleeps on the top bunk? I have never seen so much barf in my entire life, and as a Nurse, that is saying a lot! It was EVERYWHERE! It splashed all over the books, (some of which belong to the LIBRARY!!!) the wall, the closet across the room wasn't even spared. Since he only made it almost over the bed, it went between the mattress and bed frame, got onto Beanie's bed, went between HIS mattress and bed frame to the storage bins under the bed..... WOW, that was an adventure. We ended up getting most of the library books cleaned, but threw the grossest of ours away :( Peanut had a fever too and got to stay home from school and snuggle on the couch for a couple days. Then I got it too!! Ry was the only one that escaped the sickies, and he stayed home and took care of us. Thank you so much, you are the best Papa and Husband ever. I think we are all on the mend. FINALLY
